Connecting a Simulator Overview For this tutorial page i'm going to assume I am Joe Smith and want to add a region to the [http://www.osgrid.org OSGrid]. Here is my machine example information I will be referencing.
* Port 9000
If you do not have a User Account for OSgrid, please sign up for one now by selecting "Create Account" on the menu. Region List : [Click for Region List] complete OpenSimulator documentation available here.
Configurations
Now, to get configuration started , lets first make sure your [OpenSim.ini] is setup to work in grid mode for OSGrid.
/bin/OpenSim.ini (osgrid.org example)

Now run OpenSim.exe and it should begin asking you a number of questions about the first Region you want to set up. Enter in the name of the region as "TestLandia", enter in your ip when asked for ip, make the master user your user you registered with, set the location equal to the one you registered. After all the information is taken, your region should begin running and now be connected.

Logging Into your Region now run the Hippo OpenSim viewer and connect to your region, if you want to use the standard SL viewer then copy your SL shortcut and modify it to look like the line below:

And login with your registered user name. w00h00! You now are a part of OSGrid! =) |
