Gridhop feedback channel

Hello Gridhoppers,

This is the feedback channel for the Gridhop project hosted at http://gridhop.net/ . A web project that will help to build a database of hypergrid enabled opensim instances.

This project got started to gain visibility of regions created by the users. Beside the capture of the normal connectivity data (name, address and port) the users are able to give a brief description and classify the content of the regions they like to announce.

We hope to intensify the traffic for a more active and vital community in between the hypergrid.

Thanks for your feedback on this channel.

Your Gridhoppers.

Hi

I find Gridhop.net very very useful. Thank you for providing it. I use it all the time. In my opinion its the only way to HG travel.

I do have a few suggestions which I hope you find useful:

1) Have the 2 lists (grid and regions) sorted in alphabetical order to make locating the region you want to HG to quicker to find. As gridhop grows this will be more and more neccessary. I believe HG2 will cause an explosion of HGing so bets to be ready.

2) Add a field for Softare version so grid operators can inform fill it in for each region. Others can then see how compatible there HG region is to jump to this region. Maybe this could be a drop down box with say a list of bump levels to choose from (eg  "pre  0.6.7 bump"  or "post 0.6.7 bump")

3) Add a flag for region currently available so grid operators can suspend HG operations without having to remove the entry entirely from gridhop. Would be good if Gridhop didnt even offer HG for those flagged as unavailable (grey out the HG jump option maybe).

4) On my browser (IE 7) the links to HG jump or TP inside the grid are underlined when the mouse is over them but struckthrough when it is not. If this is not debliberate maybe this could be fixed (for cosmetic reasons only).

Once again thank you for all the hard work that went in to Gridhop.

Best Regards... Bob Wellman (PMgrid)
